Honor Flight Historic Triangle Virginia had the pleasure of escorting 90 World War II veterans from the Hampton Roads area to Washington, DC on Saturday October 17th. Despite the cold weather and constant rain, we had a safe and successful trip in which we visited Arlington National Cemetery, the World War II Memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial, and the National Museum of the Marine Corps. To all of the guardians, volunteers, support activities, and veteran families & friends who helped make this trip a huge success, we thank you for helping demonstrate our appreciation to "America's Greatest Generation" for the incredible sacrifices they made for our nation more than sixty years ago.
Veteran applications are now being accepted for our next trip tentatively scheduled for April 24, 2010. For those World War II or terminally ill veterans that have not yet participated in one of our Honor Flights, we hope you will consider applying by completing and sending in your signed application by either fax or mail. Applications are available for download from the "Applications" page of our website. Please continue to keep track of our website for future updates regarding our next Honor Flight trip.
